Two For You And a Pair To Share: If you wish to continue doing call-in contests, dress it up to create more interest.  Take the 10th caller to win, but with a twist…the winner gets an extra pair of tickets to share with someone else.  They get to choose.  And you call their friend and award them the tickets live on the air.  It makes their day, creates an emotional moment and may win over a new listener.  Variation:   Instead of winning for yourself, you win for someone else…and tell the show why.  Then call that person and let the friend tell them what happened.  Both are a sort of “pay it forward” appeal.

Tradio  Start with a small item, such as a cassette or movie tickets. Offer to trade it for something of equal or higher value. Keep trading until you get a nice prize. Then give away the prize in the last half hour of the show. If you have trouble working out the logistics of trading the prizes, consider simply taking offers throughout the show and give away prizes to the highest (or strangest) bidder. The next day you can trade away the item you traded for the day before. If you do it this way, it’s best to do the promotion over a 15-30 minute period at the same time each day.
